Chattanooga, TN – Hamilton County leaders have voted to allocate $13 million for school improvements, with $4.5 million dedicated to replacing the aging stadium at Chattanooga School for the Arts and Sciences (CSAS). The measure passed with strong support, thanks in large part to the work and advocacy of Commissioner Warren Mackey.

For years, the CSAS community has called for an upgrade to its outdated stadium. Commissioner Mackey listened, built consensus, and helped secure the funding to make it happen. The new stadium will not only serve student-athletes but also provide a safer, more welcoming space for families and the broader community.

“This is about more than a stadium, it’s about showing our students that they matter, that their education and extracurricular activities are worth investing in” Mackey said after the vote.

Alongside the stadium project, the plan includes a full landscape makeover. The improvements will create a greener, more inviting campus environment, giving students and staff a space they can take pride in.

From classrooms to athletic fields, Mackey has emphasized that strong schools need strong facilities. Well-kept, modern environments boost student morale, attract families to the district, and strengthen neighborhood pride. Mackey’s record shows a steady vision: supporting schools not just with words, but with tangible results. The CSAS stadium replacement is the latest in a series of investments he has championed to ensure Hamilton County students have the tools and the spaces they need to thrive.
