It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jerome Whittington Page, the former President and CEO of the Urban League of Greater Chattanooga, who left us on February 8, 2026, at the age of 90. Jerome served as a transformative leader of the organization from 1983 to 1991, leaving an indelible mark on the community and the Urban League’s legacy.
Born on March 6, 1935, in Denver, Colorado, Jerome devoted his life to advocating for civil rights, social justice, and economic opportunity. Under his leadership, the Urban League became a beacon of hope and progress, championing youth development and workforce readiness at a pivotal time in history.
Jerome was a visionary who launched numerous initiatives, including the Equal Opportunity Day Dinner and the Youth Achievement and Motivation Project, which helped prepare young people for futures filled with potential. His unwavering belief in Black excellence and commitment to service paved the way for countless individuals in the Chattanooga community to succeed.
Jerome Page was surrounded by loved ones in his final moments, and he is survived by his devoted wife, JoKatherine Holliman Page; his sons; his grandchildren; and an extended family who cherished him deeply.
A Homegoing Service to honor Jerome’s life will be held on Saturday, July 25th, at 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Episcopal Church, located at 2552 North Williams St, Denver, CO 80205.
As we reflect on his life and contributions, we celebrate a legacy of service and dedication to inclusion, justice, and community empowerment. In honor of Jerome Page, let us continue to champion the values he lived by and strive to uplift our community, ensuring that his spirit of service and advocacy lives on.
