April 28, 2026— The Bessie Smith Cultural Center (BSCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of three distinguished community leaders to its Board of Directors: Jermaine Freeman, Jocelyn Loza, and Brian Bush.
These new board members bring a wealth of experience across economic development, strategic marketing, and public service, further strengthening the organization’s leadership as it continues to expand its impact across Chattanooga and Hamilton County.
Jermaine Freeman serves as the Executive Director of Economic & Workforce Development at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he works to strengthen UTC’s role in regional talent development and economic progress. His expertise will support the organization’s long-term strategic initiatives.
Jocelyn Loza is a Strategic Marketing Executive with Hoopla Marketing Now, bringing extensive experience in brand strategy, communications, and audience development. Her insights will help elevate the Center’s visibility and outreach as it grows its regional and national presence.
Brian Bush serves as General Counsel for the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, where he provides legal guidance and leadership on critical public safety matters. His background in law and governance will be instrumental in supporting the Center’s continued organizational development.
